How do you regard each other? How do

How do you regard each other?

August 24, 2024

How do you regard each other? How do you treat each other? What kind of person do you portray—is it one of criticism and negativism? Or do you treat others with extraordinary dignity and respect, being positive and uplifting? In the 1 Thessalonians 2 the Apostle Paul and his companions explained to the Thessalonians how they were to walk in a worthy manner through their actions, deeds and words for the Thessalonians were accusing Paul of seeking to please himself rather than to please God. In verses 4 it says, “but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please men, but to please God”…and in verse 9 it says, “For you remember our labor and toil, brethren; we worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you, while we preached to you the gospel of God.” Paul was in this business of preaching the gospel of God. We must remember that the Apostle Paul was never about him “self”. He was always about Glorifying God and serving God. So how does this apply to our situation today? When we focus our lives on God’s agenda, we have opportunities to share how great our God is with others. This concept was relevant to Paul, and it is relevant to us as well. My father lived in a retirement center in San Antonio, Texas. He had just turned ninety when he first moved in. He noticed very few people smiled or said hello to one another. It became his mission to smile and say hello to everyone. Then something happened he noticed people started greeting one another and smiling at one another, laughing and having fun. It became a friendlier place…attitudes changed by one person’s actions. And your attitude can make a difference too! Think about that. God Bless. Amen.
