Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.

Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Which is a good thing, but what is the difference of being kind and being nice. Nice is defined as pleasing; agreeable; delightful; while kind is defined as having, showing, or proceeding from benevolence. Nice never wants to rock the boat. Kind is willing to make waves. Nice is more concerned with not upsetting someone. Kind is most concerned with doing what is right. Nice is afraid to speak up when they witness unkind behavior. Kind is willing to speak up and take a stand. Nice is worried about being liked. Kind is worried about being kind. There is a difference as to being kind verse being nice. The bible DOES NOT tell us to be nice it tells us to be kind. Ephesians 4:32 reads, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God has forgiven you.” Colossians 3:12-13a tells us, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Joshua 2:12 says, “Now then, please swear to me by the LORD that you will show kindness to my family, because I have shown kindness to you.” We are told to clothe ourselves with kindness. Acts of kindness makes the world a better place. Kindness produces a more enjoyable atmosphere. It boosts feelings of confidence, happiness, and optimism. It shows others how to live out a more peaceful existence. And the really amazing thing about kindness is that the more kindness you give, the more you get in return. Today, do random acts of kindness to those around you. Be kind. You will have a better day. God Bless. Amen.
