Lift up your eyes and focus on God

Lift up your eyes and focus on God and His grace, not yourself.

May 8, 2023

Lift up your eyes and focus on God and His grace, not yourself. Do you ever self-destruct? You know where you do things that are unhealthy to you and/or your body. Such as over eating, over drinking, sleeping your day away, over spending, gossiping, gambling, watching TV continually, being on your computer or phone non-stop, you know over indulging! To hide from a problem, that is weighing heavy on your mind. Something, you are stressed about. I have, at times, when I am stressed, go into a self-destructive mode. It is strange, because it is at these times I should be praying and talking to God, but I am not. In fact, God is the last one I want to be talking to. Why is this? Today, no matter what is going on in your life go to God. God will give you the strength and courage you need to get through the situation you are in. You do not need to self-destruct nor over indulge to make yourself feel better. James 1:14 tells us, “But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.” Proverbs 18:1 says, “He who separates himself seeks his own desire. He quarrels against all sound wisdom.” Psalms 28:7 tells us, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” So, to help you to not self-destruct, turn on praise music, pray and praise God, write down your concerns in a journal, get your eyes off yourself and focus on God. And the LORD God Almighty, will give you the strength you need to take care of yourself. Remember, when you are in self-destruction mode, the only person that you are really hurting, is yourself! God Bless. Amen.
