Trust means the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. At the core of trust is a confident belief in feeling secure and assured in another person’s intentions and actions, based on their past behavior and character. Who would you, or do you trust with your life? Who do you trust to take care of your child? To take care of your spouse or a loved one? Your finances? If we are honest there are only a few people whom we truly trust, for people can and will let us down at different times in our life. But not God. For when we put our trust in God, whether in our best efforts or our worst failures we can be assured that it is God who works in us and through us. Scripture reminds us of this—putting our trust in God. Proverbs 3:5 reads, “Trust in the LORD with all our heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Psalm 28:7 says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” Sometimes we just need to be reminded of this. Trust in the Lord and life works out. God Bless. Amen.
