We forgive others because, we, as Christian are told to forgive as our Lord forgives us. We forgive because the Bible tells us that we are not supposed to go to sleep without forgiving the other person. We forgive others for our own well-being, which promotes healing and peace of mind. Forgiveness can and does release emotional burdens and leads to healthier relationships. For when you forgive someone, you forgive yourself for holding that grudge. For bearing a grudge against someone who has hurt you is not just about what they have done to you. Forgiveness gets you out of being a victim and doing what God has called you to do and to be. Because forgiveness frees you to take back your power. You are no longer the victim. You are following God’s way. You are able you move on in a positive way, no longer a victim of life’s circumstances. Mark 11:25 says, “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Matthew 18:21-22 tells us, “Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times? Jesus said to him, I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.” As Christian, people who walk in faith, brothers and sisters of our Lord, let us live by the words of our Lord and Savior let us forgive one another. Not just some, but all. God Bless. Amen.
