When I was younger, I would daydream. I

When I was younger, I would daydream.

January 4, 2025

When I was younger, I would daydream. I would go into my fantasy world and create all sorts of kingdoms, all the while my imagination would run wild. I got into trouble a couple of times at school and had to learn not to daydream at school, it was difficult for me. Learning not to go into my pretend world. Sometimes, we go to our pretend world, to escape from reality. Other times we go there because it comforts us. As I got older, I read, to escape life. How do you escape those difficult days? Do you read, daydream, watch TV for long periods of time, do you go into your mancave, or woman cave, do you shop, gamble, drink, yell, scream, or shout? How do you deal with life? What do you do to escape, for we all escape life at one time or another. What I learned to do in my early 30’s, instead of reading all the time, my escape became prayer, reading the Bible, meditation and exercise. When you need a break from life what do you do? Job 5:11 reads, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” God is the answer when life is out of sorts, when we need to escape life’s difficulties—not our vices. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
